Gussie Jo Smith

Gussie Jo Smith, 85, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Ark. Gussie was born April, 17, 1931, in Taylor, Texas to Gus and Bertha Schoppe. Gussie was married to Bob G. Smith for 56 years. Gussie is survived by her son, Bob (Robby) Smith, his wife, Marty, of Fayetteville, Ark., sister, Mary Lockler, of Huntsville, Texas and special friend, Don Bacus, of Farmington, Ark. Gussie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob, and sister, Bobbie Scully, of Spring, Texas. Gussie was a Christian, faithful wife and devoted Mother. Gussie's first priority was her unselfish support of Bob and Robby. Gussie also loved gardening, needle work, cooking, reading and staying in touch with her many friends and family all over the country. The family wishes to thank the staff at Willard Walker Hospice Home for the loving care given to Gussie and her family. Also, special thanks to her caregivers Shirley Dixon, Dawn Setters, Mandy DeWitt and Jennifer Alexander for their loving care.
