JAMES (JIM) A. BROWN, 74, of Jacksonville, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016. He was born Nov. 28, 1941 in St. Louis, Mo. to the late Porter and Bertha Brown. He is survived by Jane, his loving wife of 32 years; a son, David (Roxxy) Brown of Arlington, Texas; daughter, Angela Vance and granddaughter, Naomi Vance, both of Jacksonville, Ark.; and two sisters, Rosie Batey of Hillsboro, Mo. and Elizabeth Mantia of Arnold, Mo.; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by a sister, Louise Smith. Jim retired from the USAF after serving his country for 23 years. He was a gentle, kind and loving man. He loved to fish, yard sale, flea market, and most all, go to auctions. He loved his cats, especially Whitey. Graveside funeral services will be Wednesday, 3 p.m., June 15 at Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery in Jacksonville.
