Margaret Rodgers Gorman

Margaret Rodgers Gorman, 94, of Cabot, Ark. and longtime Pine Bluff resident, died at home Saturday, June 11, 2016. Born in Des Arc, Ark. on November 14, 1921, daughter of the late Jesse W. and Ruth Heavener Rodgers, she was reared in Des Arc and Jonesboro, Ark., graduating from Jonesboro High School in 1940. She lived and worked in Pine Bluff, Fort Chafee, and San Antonio, Texas during World War II, returning to Pine Bluff in 1946. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Pine Bluff, and volunteered for JRMC and several other Jefferson County civic and charitable groups. She was married to Welbie J. Gorman in 1950. He preceded her in death in 1992. They were married for 42 years and shared a love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing and family gatherings. After retirement they worked as manager and brokers for White Hall Realty. She moved to Cabot in 2005. Survivors include her son, Welbie J. Gorman, Jr. of Cabot; daughter Regina Gorman Edwards (Larry) of Cabot; brother, Cleo Rodgers (Rosa) of White Hall, Ark.; three grandchildren, Wesley J. Gorman (Nikki), Courtney Gorman, Jerry Gorman; one great-granddaughter, Willow Grace. Graveside services are Wednesday, June 15, 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Pine Bluff with Reverend Gary Bell officiating. Memorials requested to the Audubon Society.
