Cleo Grover Masingill, age 97, of Old Hickory, died in Morrilton, on June 20, 2016 with his family at his side. Cleo was born February 26, 1919 in Old Hickory, the son of the late Cleve and Neelie Masingill. He was a cattle farmer and a lifetime member of Old Hickory Baptist Church. He loved riding horses, hunting, and spending time with family and his many adventures with his grandkids. Survivors include five children: Rebecca (Benny) West of Lanty, Diane (Gary) Grenier of Broomfield, Colorado, Karen (Charlie) Davidson of Benton, Mary (Cliff) Gregory of Old Hickory, Steve Masingill of Old Hickory; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Sue Kelley of Atchison, Kansas and Imogene DeFranzo of Connecticut, and a host of other relatives and friends. Cleo was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years Lucy Loyd Masingill; three brothers: Woodrow Masingill, Curtis Masingill, and O.B. Masingill; and three sisters: Etta Peck, Cecil McCoole, and Ola Peterson. The family would like to thank the staff of Brookridge Cove and Arkansas Hospice for the wonderful care for Cleo. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at Old Hickory Baptist Church with Bro. Johnny Hoffman and Homer McCoole officiating. Burial will be at Old Hickory Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23 at Harris Chapel.
