FRANCES OVERTON ROYSTON, 92, died Monday, June 13, 2016, at Presbyterian Village in Little Rock. Born Aug. 25, 1923, in Decatur County, Tenn., Frances was the eldest daughter of the late Rev. James Arter and Lula Jane Pope Overton. Frances married Arthur Lee Royston, Sr. on May 8, 1943. Frances is survived by her children, Sharon Royston Hankins and Dr. Edwin Hankins III of Mayflower, Arthur Lee Royston Jr. and Chris Smith Royston of Harrison; grandchildren, Jennifer Hankins Slump (Stephen) of McComb, Miss., Amy Hankins Blanz of Fayetteville, Edwin Hankins IV (Christin) of Little Rock, Neil Smith Royston of Fayetteville; great-grandchildren, Joseph Daniel, Hannah Renee and Mathew Alexander Slump, Evan Robert and Mason Lee Blanz, Caroline Lee, Edwin V and Anna Rose Hankins. Frances' sisters also survive her: Dola Jean Hensley of Oklahoma City and Helen Presswood of Nathrop, Colo. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends across the country. Frances is predeceased by her parents, her beloved Easy (April 19, 2011) and her brothers Rev. Carl Louis Overton and Dewey Elmon Overton, Md. Frances' Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 1 p.m., Sanctuary of Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive in Little Rock by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. Reverend Dr. Karen K. Akin and Rev. Steve Hancock officiating. Graveside service at Bellwood Cemetery in Pine Bluff will be private.
