James Melvin Thacker, 75, died Tuesday, June 28, 2016. He was born March 1, 1941 in Heber Springs a son of the late J.W. "Buddy Thacker and Bertha Irene Adcock Thacker. Melvin was the owner of the Judsonia Emporium and was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was also a member of the VFW Post 2330. Survived by his wife of 31 years, Bertha Waggle Thacker; sons, Woody Robinson of Grady, David Robinson of Russellville, Mark Robinson of Searcy and Paul Robinson (Mary) of Judsonia; brothers, Gary Thacker (Shirley) of Judsonia and Terry Thacker of Judsonia; sisters, Pat Cook of Searcy, Mildred "Mickey" Tompkins (Alan) of Searcy and Tammy Cook (Anthony) of Judsonia; grandchildren, Holly Pulley, Cami Jabes, Gunner Robinson, Shelby Robinson, Elizabeth Robinson, Jacob Robinson, Jessyca Robinson, Stetson Evans and Ashley Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Mathis Foster, Emerson Pulley, Kayden and Baby Kooper Robinson, Bentley Evans and Nathaniel Wheeler and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by an infant daughter, Terri Lynn Robinson and a brother, Jerry Thacker. Visitation: Thursday, 6-8 p.m. Funeral: Friday, July 1, 2016, 10 a.m., Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
