Don Stevenson

Donard Gene "Don" Stevenson of Rogers passed away on June 28, 2016. He was born on April 28, 1921, in Flat Rock, Illinois, to P.H. and Ruth Stevenson. Don served in World War II as part of the Army Medical Corps. He will be remembered as a good Christian man, and was a longtime member of the Southside Church of Christ in Rogers. He was also an avid trap shooter and a member of the sportsman's club in Bella Vista. He is survived by his wife, Marion Stevenson; his children, Lisle Stevenson, Bennie J. Stevenson and wife Geneice, Gail L. Wagner and husband Mark, all of Rogers; stepsons, Denzil Thomas and wife Judy of Waverly, Mo., Brian Thomas and wife Chris of Long Beach, Miss.; sister, Betty Ruth Launius; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Stevenson; siblings, Bob Stevenson, Dick Stevenson, Marlon Cook; and one granddaughter. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, June 30, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Southside Church of Christ. Burial with military honors will follow in Rogers Cemetery. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Southern Christian Children's Home at http://www.schome.org/support/.
