Mildred Lucile Ray, 88, of Cabot, died Sunday, February 28, 2016. She was born July 12, 1927 in Searcy to the late John Hopper and Gladys Gather Hoper. Mildred was a faithful charter member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church. She was also a beloved school teacher and taught 4th grade at Cabot elementary school, and in Fairbanks, Alaska, after relocating there with the family construction business. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, O.W. "Bill" Ray, four sons; Tim, Barry, Don, and Gregory Ray and a sister, Reva Nell Williams. Mildred is survived by her stepdaughter, Glenda Pouncey (Roger); grandchildren, Amy Ray, Josh Robertson, Lena Ray, and Don Keith Ray; step-grandchildren, Emily Norton and Jerry Norton; great-grandson, Logan Robertson, and step-great-grandson, Jacob Vaught. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at Mountain Springs Baptist Church in Cabot with Bro.
