Frank L. Thornhill

Frank L. Thornhill Jr., 77, of Pine Bluff, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Thornhill was born August 16, 1938, in Pine Bluff, son of the late Frank L. Thornhill Sr. and Ruth Dunigan Thornhill. He was reared and received his education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School. He served in the National Guard and the Army Reserve. Mr. Thornhill worked for Cotton Belt Railroad (now Union Pacific) for 38 years. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Randolph Hunting Club. He had many hobbies including repairing guns, making hunting knives, powder horns, and jewelry. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Burrough Thornhill, whom he married on December 15, 1962, in Pine Bluff); a daughter, Elizabeth (Dietrich) Duke of Maumelle; two grandchildren, Hunter and Chloe Duke, both of Maumelle; sister, Patricia Thornhill Newton of Little Rock; and other beloved family members including his aunts, uncles, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked to please make a donation to your favorite charity in honor of Frank.
