Hellon Jane Chisolm Beeman of Lowell, Arkansas (and Meridian, Mississippi) died on February 25, 2016 at Katherine's Place in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born December 12, 1921 in Meridian, Mississippi to Daniel Lowry Chisolm and Annie Lee Pilgrim Chisolm. Hellon was a graduate of Meridian High School and Meridian Junior College. She married Thomas Morgan (T.M.) Beeman on December 13, 1941. After her youngest son began the seventh grade, she returned to working outside of the home in 1956 in secretarial positions with organizations such as a blood bank, a lumber company, an insurance company, a steel company, and the Soil Conservation Service. On March 16, 1964, Hellon went to work for the Social Security Administration in Meridian. She retired 20 years and 3 months later from the Social Security Administration on June 22, 1984. Hellon joined the Meridian Chapter of the National Secretaries Association in 1962, subsequently volunteering on various committees and serving in leadership positions. She was selected the Meridian Chapter NSA "Secretary of the Year" in 1967 and President of the chapter in 1969. Hellon also represented the Meridian chapter of the NSA at National Conventions in Locations such as Chicago, Seattle, and New York. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lowell, Arkansas, having moved to Lowell in 2003 from Meridian, Mississippi where she was a member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church over 70 years. Survivors include her two sons, Thomas Lowry Beeman of Brandon, Mississippi, and Dannie Lee Beeman and his wife Helen of Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren Karon Ann Beeman of Brandon, Mississippi, Sharon Kay Beeman Wood and her husband John of Brandon, Mississippi, Wendy Adelia Beeman Brady and her husband Will of Jackson, Mississippi, Bennie Lee Beeman Jr. and his wife Cindy of Rogers, Arkansas, Loren Jane Beeman Cunningham and her husband Roger of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and David Lyn Beeman and his wife Missy of Lowell, Arkansas; great-grandchildren Jessica Christine Wood Hust and her husband David of Pearl, Mississippi, Neely Paige Wood of Brandon, Mississippi, William Thomas Brady of Jackson, Mississippi, Sarah Morgan Rhoads, Caleb Luke Rhoads, and Hunter James Cunningham of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Sadie Kate Beeman and Ella Jane Beeman of Lowell, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews in Mississippi and California. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Thomas Morgan Beeman Jr., daughter-in-law Sally Stumph Beeman, her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Services and burial were held on March 5, 2016 at Stephens Funeral Home in Meridian with Rev. Mike Sills officiating.
