Ruby Pearl Lenox

Ruby Pearl Lenox was born on January 27, 1919 on a farm in the Cypress Ridge Community near Monroe, Arkansas. She passed away March 3rd, 2016 at the age of 97. She was the daughter of the late John and Lula Sebastian, one of ten children. She was preceded in death by her son, Connie Mack Wofford, from her previous marriage to the late Leonard Wofford from Brinkley, Arkansas. She was also preceded in death by five brothers: Bradley, Lawrence, Arnold, Fay, and Adrian Sebastian; and two sisters: Audrey Lawson and Bernice Sebastian. Mrs. Lenox was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brinkley and a devout Christian, proven by her love for the lord and her desire to always help others. Many who knew her often referred to Ruby as an angel due to her sweet and generous nature, the epitome of a true "southern bell". "Miss Ruby" as she was often referred to, was a charter member of Riceland Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and was past Matron and had Grand Representative appointments to other states. Her tenure in the Order of the Eastern Star spanned over six decades. Ruby worked for many years for Riceland Foods in both its Parkin and Stuttgart, Arkansas locations. In 1976, she married Fred Williams of Brinkley, Arkansas and subsequently moved to Brinkley at that time. After the long illness and the death of Mr. Williams, she then married Clyde "Chub" Lenox of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and continued to make Brinkley her home. Mr. Lenox also suffered a long illness prior to his death. Both families wish it to be known that Ruby Pearl, as she was affectionately called by her close friends and family, was the primary caregiver for both Mr. Williams and Mr. Lenox during their illnesses and never left their side. One of Miss Ruby's pleasures in life included working with her beautiful flowers in her yard. A common site to passers-by was the image of Miss Ruby on her riding lawn mower, wearing a long sleeve shirt and large wide-brimmed straw hat. She was quick to stop and converse with anyone who happened by. Mrs. Lenox is survived by her sister, Ludeen Duck, of Dallas, Texas and her brother, Leland Sebastian, of San Antonio, Texas. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Peggy Knight of Brinkley, Arkansas and Thelma Newby of White Hall, Arkansas as well as a stepson, Don Lenox, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas along with several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Brinkley on March 10th, 2016 at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial services will be at Oaklawn Cemetary, in Brinkley, Arkansas.
