Ann Lehman Pride

Ann Lehman Pride, 68, of Alexandria, Va. died Sunday February 21 in Washington D.C following a stroke. A native of Blytheville, she was Director of Public Affairs and Policy in Entergy Corporation's Washington office. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Pride Jr. and Margaret Shaver Pride. She is survived by her brother, Joe Pride III and his wife Dianne, a niece, Elizabeth, two nephews, Jacob and Joseph and his wife Kelleigh all of California. After obtaining her bachelor and master's degrees from University of Arkansas, she began a career in politics with Congressman Bill Alexander. Following that, she worked with Governor David Pryor until she joined Entergy in 1991 as Director of Federal Government Affairs. She held various titles within Entergy, taking a brief leave of absence to work on the Clinton-Gore campaign where she served as press secretary for Vice Presidential nominee, Al Gore. Besides her passion for politics she was a world traveler and competitive card player, including being a member of an Old Town Alexandria "bridge bunch" group that met on Sundays for nearly 40 years. She was active in the University of Arkansa's Washington D.C. alumni chapter and served on the selection committee for the University's Henry Woods Student Leader Award. She was a dear friend and a beloved family member to many worldwide. In Washington DC, a celebration of Ann's life will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday March 15th, at 101 Constitution Avenue, NW.
