Anthony "Tony" Kernej

Anthony "Tony" Kernej, 78, passed away on March 10, 2016 at his home in Bentonville. He was born on Jan. 6, 1938 in South Milwaukee, Wis. to the late Anton and Barbara (Katveski) Kernej. He was the loving husband to Sandy (Ragan) Kernej for 56 years. Tony enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, target practice, using his metal detector and coin collecting. He looked forward to the many family gatherings where they would play Poker and Cribbage. Tony was a loving person and will be missed by all who knew him. Tony was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tim Kernej; and sister, Marilyn Thorn. He is survived by his wife of Bentonville; daughter, Jodi Templeton and husband, Bob of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; grandchildren, Cari (Matt) Schroeder, Ashley Nelson all of St. Louis, Mo.; Jeremy Trock of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; great-grandson, Austin Nelson of St. Louis, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 11:30-12:30 with Mass of Christian Burial following in St. Vincent de Paul Church in Rogers. Burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery.
