Lowell Burton Casteel

Mr. Lowell Burton Casteel, age 86, a resident of Hot Springs Village, formerly of Horatio, Ark., died Friday, March 11, 2016, in Hot Springs. He was born May 8, 1929 in Horatio. He was a supervisor at Ashgrove Cement, a U.S. Army veteran and a deacon at Balboa Baptist Church in Hot Springs Village. Mr. Casteel was preceded in death by his parents, Emmit Pedro and Millie Chenault Casteel; three brothers, Paul (Shorty) Casteel, Ed Casteel and David Casteel; and one sister, Lois Fenton. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Nix Casteel; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Beverly Casteel of Maumelle, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, Terri and David McClure of Shreveport, La.; one sister, Mildred Billingsley of Wichita Falls, Texas; four grandchildren, Kris Keen, Christy Grant, Drew Edwards and Garrett McClure; three great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Lowell Casteel will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2016 in the Horatio Cemetery with Rev.
