MSGT JAMES F. MILLER, USAF (RET.), age 82, of Maumelle, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016. He was born in DeValls Bluff on Aug. 4, 1933 to Jim and Gertie McAfee Miller. Jim was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Jacinto #216 Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Scimitar Shrine. After twenty-one years of service to the United States Air Force, Jim retired as a Master First Sergeant and made his home in Arkansas. While serving in the military Jim worked in communications and was a Drill Sergeant, training troops and squads for the 3737, etc. After retiring from the Post Office, he began a career of building homes. He loved gardening, fishing, hunting, and being a Grandpa. Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wilma K. Krüdener Miller, originally of Germany; son, James F. Miller Jr. (Bonnie), of Little Rock; daughter, Carolyn Treece (Tim), of Alma; grandchildren, Kelly Treece, of Alma, Jamie Tyler (Aaron) of Tulsa, Okla., Justin Treece (Kathleen), of Alma, Matthew Miller, of Little Rock, and Laura Rankin (Ross), of Benton; and great-grandchildren, Dylynn Mae Treece, of Alma, Abigail Louise Tyler, of Tulsa, Okla., and Brooks David Treece, of Alma. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., (501-791-7400). Entombment with full military honors will follow at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle.
