Barbara F. Paddock, 91, of Sherwood, died on Sunday, March 13, 2016 following a long illness. She was an active member of the Springhill, North Little Rock Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was born to Grace and George Browder on February 14, 1925 in Cleburne, Texas. She spent her early life in Cleburne and El Paso, Texas. The family moved to California during the Great Depression before settling in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She met her husband, Clayton S. Paddock in Carlsbad where he was stationed for training during World War II. They married on January 31, 1944 and remained married for 63 years until his death in 2007. After the war, Barbara and Clayton moved to Chicago where there their three sons were born. However, in 1962 they bought a farm near Harrison, Arkansas and over years of hard work, Bar-C Ranch became an internationally respected purebred Charolais cattle breeding operation. She loved the outdoors, hiking, boating, and traveling. She was an avid and knowledgeable gardener who could transform a yard into a beautiful landscape. Barbara is survived by her three sons and their wives: George and Kathleen, Steve and Micki, and Doug and Meyka. In addition, she leaves grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her optimism and ready smile. To sign the online guestbook, go to griffinleggettresthills.com.
