James Reed Eison, age 76, of Alexander, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2016. He was born Dec. 10, 1939 in Memphis, Tenn. to the late Col. Frederic J. Eison and Anna Bernice Reed Eison. He graduated from Little Rock Central High School, and attended Little Rock University and earned his Bachelor of Arts. He went to work for the Museum of Science and History until his retirement in December of 1999 as the curator of History and Collections. While there, he gave tours of the museum to school children and groups. He also gave interesting tours of historical Mount Holly Cemetery in Little Rock. He was most proud of all his historical writings that were printed in various newspapers and pamphlets in Arkansas and South Carolina and will now be preserved at the Arkansas History Commission in Little Rock. He had many friends whom he really loved and adored. He loved children and fostered many over the years. He was an unselfish man and will be greatly missed. He is survived by one son, Charles J. "Joey" Eison and his fiancé, Robyn M. Sample; his granddaughter, Sara K. Eison; cousins, Reed and James Musgrave, Karen James, Brett Tyhurst and her daughters, Cara and Alison, all of Benton, Shep and Debra Whitener and their three sons, David, Mathew and Paul and many others in North and South Carolina. A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
