MOLLIE (MARTIN) WISEMAN died peacefully on Feb. 9, 2016 at the age of 92. She was born Nov. 6, 1923 in Mabelvale, Ark. to Leon and Margaret (Thompson) Martin. She is survived by her daughter Toni (Margaret) and her husband David Walker of Andover, Mass., her son Fred Maccaron and his wife Vicki Winter of North Kingstown, R.I., her grandchildren Sarah and Jonathan Walker as well as her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands Fred Maccaron and Harold Wiseman as well as her five siblings Thompson Martin, Carl Martin, Mary Ruth Malone, Kathleen Smith and Dorothy Mullis. During WWII she left Arkansas to join The US Coast Guard. While in the service she met her first husband. They lived and raised their family in his home state of Rhode Island. In 1956 she returned to school to study practical nursing where she graduated at the top of her class. Mollie's love and appreciation of National Parks came from her extensive travel around the country by motor home with her second husband. Not only did she enjoy hiking and other outdoor adventures, she thoroughly enjoyed meeting and getting to know the people who lived there. She continued to travel after Harold's death, settling in Arizona where she enjoyed sharing the natural wonders of the west with her grandchildren. At 70 she returned to Arkansas where she continued her life long campaign for social change. In 2010 she moved to Andover, Mass. with her beloved dog Molly to be closer to her children. Mollie donated her remains for medical study after which she will be interred in the Martin Cemetery in Mabelvale, Ark.
