William Owen Bradley

William Owen "Brad" Bradley, 99 of Clinton, Arkansas went to be with His Lord Sunday, March 20, 2016. He was born July 13, 1916 in Bee Branch, Arkansas to Harvey and Alma Bost Bradley. Brad was preceded in death by his parents, brother Raymond Bradley, and his wife Julia Hayes Parish Bradley. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Robert Bradley of Platteville, Colorado; stepsons, David (Judy) Young of Plano, Texas; Toney (Sallie)Parish of Clinton, Arkansas; Stanley(Mary Jim) Parish of Dallas, Texas; and a sister, Maxine Nichols of Scotia, New York. Also surviving are an aunt, Gusta Finley of Hydro, Oklahoma; a cousin, Bobbie Steenberger of Yukon, Oklahoma; six step-grandchildren; 17 step-great grandchildren; 15 step-great-great-grandchildren; and relatives and friends. Brad was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from July 1938 until October 1939. He joined the United States Army and was stationed in Iceland and England during World War II. Rad was promoted to Staff Sergeant in the 634 AAA(AW) BN US Army. His unit was in the second wave of troops landing at Omaha Beach, and he fought in the Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, and Rhineland campaigns. He was awarded four Bronze Stars, one for each of these campaigns. He was employed at Conoco Phillips Refinery in Ponca City, Oklahoma for thirty-four years and retired to live in Conway, Arkansas before moving to Clinton, Arkansas. Brad was a Christian who loved his wife Julia and his family members. He had a delightful sense of humor that made everyone who came in contact with him happy to have known him. The family would like to thank Hospice workers especially Tommie, Stephanie, Cheryl, Trish, and Pastor Ron Byrd. Also thanks goes to Meals on Wheels especially Anna Payne, Ozark Health Nursing personnel and hospital nurses and a special thank you to Dr. Daniels. Thank you to Brittany Maxwell from White River and our caregiver Jolita Kuykendall. Also thank you to the special care from Roller-McNutt personnel. God Bless All of You! Graveside services will be held at Bee Branch Cemetery Friday, March 25, 2016 at 10 a.m. with Brother Faron Rogers and family friend Don Culwell officiating. Ricky and Welda Griffith will sing one of his favorite songs " The Church in the Wildwood" which he hummed and sang the last weeks of his life.
