George Louis Peters died March 20, 2016 in Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, N.C. Born May 5, 1935 in Little Rock, Ark., to Frances Trapp Peters and Robert S. Peters, he grew up in Little Rock where he attended Catholic schools. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with an architectural degree and practiced architecture for over 25 years for J.N. Pease Associates in Charlotte. After retirement he and his wife moved to the mountains of western North Carolina. Mr. Peters is survived by his wife, Martha Blackwell Peters; son, Graham Louis and wife Cynthia of Mooresville, N.C.; daughter, Mara Lynn of Columbia, S.C.; son, Mark George of Bakersville, N.C.; and son, Robert William (Bob) and wife Jena of Charlotte. He is also survived by his brother, R. S. Peters Jr. of Little Rock; and beloved grand girls, Jessica Lynn Peters; Olivia Wren Peters, Sarah Roan Peters and their mother Erin Peters; and Georgia Elizabeth Peters. A memorial celebration of Mr. Peters' life will be announced at a later date. Condolences to family members may be sent to 448 High Drive, Bakersville, N.C. 28705.
