Charles Raymond "Bear" Lasiter, age 90, of Fordyce, Ark., died Fri., April 29 at his residence at Dalton's Place in Fordyce. Born Oct. 10, 1925 in Warren, Ark, he was the son of the late Peyton Brown Lasiter and Maude Cornish Lasiter. Charles was a retired Principal and Educator from the Fordyce School District and served our country heroically as a Navy radar man on the USS Intrepid in WWII. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Fordyce. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Madge Clanton Lasiter; bothers, Terrell Lasiter and Herb Lasiter and a sister Sue Lasiter Byrd. He is survived by two sisters, Joann Lasiter Massey and Betty Faye Lasiter Howsen of Warren, Ark; two sons, Peyton Charles Lasiter and spouse Tracy of Little Rock, Ark. and Mark Clanton Lasiter and spouse Terri of Wears Valley, Tenn.; one daughter, Karen Pennington of Bellingham, Wash.; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Wed., May 4 at Frazer's Funeral Home in Warren, Ark. Funeral services 10 a.m. Thurs., May 5 at First Baptist Church in Fordyce, Ark.
