Marie Nowlin

Marie Nell Nowlin, age 87, of Bryant, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016. She was born May 28, 1928 in Smackover, Arkansas. Mrs. Nowlin was an Elementary School Teacher for the Bryant Schools and retired in 1984. She was a very active member of Bryant First United Methodist Church and a member of the Bryant Study Club. Mrs. Nowlin and her husband loved square dancing and were avid Razorback Fans. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lois Murphy; husband, Robert L. Nowlin and a sister, Christine Murphy. She is survived by three daughters, Becky Maulden (Jim) of Bryant, Kathy Barber (Dave) of Alexander and Vicky Nowlin of Bryant; brother, George Murphy of Smackover; sister, Relda Burton of Smackover; three grandchildren, Dennis Barber (Heather), Nathan Barber and Mallory Huggins (Daniel) and three great-grandchildren, Robert Cole Barber, Dylan Barber and Allie Beth Huggins. Pallbearers will be Mark Burton, Lance Burton, Tom Murphy, George Murphy, Ward Boone, Wade Boone, Paul Halley and Terry Dalrymple. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 3 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4 at Bryant First United Methodist Church with burial at Forest Hills Cemetery. Rev. Hammett Evans and Bro. Kim Hammer will be officiating.
