Faber DeWitt Jenkins Jr., 76, passed away Sunday May 1, 2016 in Little Rock. He was an attorney for several decades. Mr. Jenkins was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas on November 29, 1939. His life is a testament of his dedication to serving both community and country. He was an Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts of America, member of the Civil Air Patrol and ROTC, an officer in the Navy and part of the JAG in the National Guard. He took a personal interest for his clients. He was an accomplished athlete, a Golden Gloves winning boxer, an Olympic trained Greco-Roman wrestler and a member of the Little Rock Ski Club. He had a passion for history, especially pertaining to Arkansas and Japan. He was a member of the Japanese Philately Society and was an avid stamp and postage collector, often writing papers on the subject. He was a loving father. He gave a lot of care and attention to those around him. He is survived by his daughter, Yumeko Jenkins of New York, N.Y.; his youngest brother, Robert Jenkins (Mary) of Wynne; and his former wife and caregiver, Sumako Bakke of North Little Rock. He leaves behind several beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Faber Jenkins Sr. and Doris Kirschke Jenkins and his brother, Jerry Jenkins. The family would like to thank Hospice Home Care in Little Rock, Stonehaven Assisted Living in Maumelle, and Thomas Bakke for their care and support. Services will be held on Thursday, May 5 at 11:30 a.m. at Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Graveside services with Military Honors will begin promptly at 1 p.m. at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Sherwood. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., (501) 224-2200.
