Eddie Carl Carlan

Eddie Carl Carlan, 76, of Benton passed away April 28, 2016. He was born February 10, 1940 in Waco, Texas to James and Nettie Carlan. Eddie graduated from Crozier Tech High School. He retired from the Dallas Police Department after 20 years working as a Homicide Investigator, field Training Officer and one of the first officers on Horse Mounted Patrol. Eddie worked around 20 years as a court security officer in the Eastern District of Arkansas Federal Courts. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, always on the go and working on different business ventures. Eddie enjoyed every day and also riding motorcycles. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James W. Carlan. He is survived by his son; Brian K. Carlan, his sister; Joann Green, companion; Donna Peters, companion's children; Robert Kennedy, Jeanne Richardson, Joe Kennedy, Teresa McAnany and many other beloved Masonic brothers and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy. 5 N., Alexander, Arkansas.
