Margaret Yancey

Margaret Yancey, age 96, of Benton, formerly of Sheridan, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Alcoa Pines Health and Rehabilitation in Benton. She was born November 27, 1919 in Emmet, the daughter of the late Clint Palmer and Della McGough Palmer. Her life was devoted to her family. Mrs. Yancey was a long-time member of East End Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Grady Yancey; son, Robert "Bob" Yancey; daughter, Mary Ann Yancey; three brothers, four sisters, and grandchildren, Kelley Yancey and Carson Humphrey. Left to cherish her memory, sons, Bill Yancey and his wife, Michelle of Corpus Christi, Texas and Joe Yancey and his wife, Donna of Hot Springs; daughters, Darla Sue Kelley and her husband, Virgil of Benton and Cynthia Atchley and her husband, Dan of Chicago, Illinois; sister, Blanch Ball of East End; daughter-in-law, Laura Yancey of Sheridan; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services are 11 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2016 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan with Brother Jimmy Raley officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery in East End. Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m. Pallbearers are David Martin, Robert Martin, Jake Yancey, Chris Yancey, Matthew Yancey, and David Ward. Honorary pallbearers are J.J.
