Allen Drew Peebles, of Gravel Ridge, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the age of 65. He was born on March 12, 1951 to William and Betty Peebles. Allen served in the U.S. Army for 9 years before he became a pastor. His heart was always in pastoring and caring for everyone he met. He retired four years ago and still remained active in his local church and in the lives of his friends and family. Those left to celebrate his life include his wife of 47 years, Phyllis and his grandson, Will, both of Gravel Ridge; his son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Shelly Peebles and their children Asa, Maddie, Emma and Jenna of San Angelo, TX; and his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Steve Mack and their children, Brendan (Savannah), Jonah and Drew of Little Rock, Ark. Allen is also survived by his mother, Betty Peebles of Dewitt, AR and five sisters and their families, including Sherry Oswalt (Glenn) of DeWItt, Brenda Oswalt (Ernest) of Dewitt, Virginia Crow (David) of Lake Charles, LA, Rosa MacIntire (Harold) of Maumelle and Regina Mannis of DeWitt. He was also loved by numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church of Gravel Ridge, 14322 Highway 107, Jacksonville, Ark. 72076 on Wednesday, May 11 from 6-8 p.m. A Memorial Service will also be held at First Baptist Church of Gravel Ridge on Thursday, May 12 at 10 a.m. with Bro. Tim Reed officiating. A short graveside service will be held in DeWitt on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Childers Cemetery with Bro. Donald Lee Ruffin officiating. The family would like to thank the staff of Arkansas Hospice for the exceptional care extended to Allen and his family.
