Kenneth Carl Krueger of Rogers passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Legacy Village Circle of Life in Bentonville, Arkansas, at the age of 102 years, 4 months and 16 days. He was born December 22, 1913 in Elma, New York the son of Carl Krueger and Ellen (Hansen) Krueger. Kenneth was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Rogers, Arkansas. He had 60 years of continuous membership in the American Legion. He attended the regular monthly meeting of Rogers Post 100 on April 19, 2016. He was also a member of the 40 & 8 Voiture, and the Elks. He proudly served his county in the United States Army during World War II. He was the radioman for the Regiment Commander of the 324th Regiment of the 44th Division. His unit fought across France, southern Germany and into Austria where they liberated Nazi Concentration Camps. He married Virginia J. Fine of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and they moved to New York, N.Y. where Ken worked as an accountant. His work took him to various areas of the United States. He was also involved in numerous audits of International companies, which required him to be knowledgeable in foreign currencies and exchange rates. One audit required him to follow transactions through seven different countries, one of which completely changed their monetary system during the audit. Upon retirement in 1975 they moved to Rogers, Arkansas where they lived until Virginia's passing in 2002. He was also preceded by his parents and his only sister Helen Whittington. His niece, Christine Whittington of Decatur, Georgia is his only surviving relative. But he leaves a host of friends from his Church, the Legion and Elks Lodge families to cherish his memory. Funeral services will be at Central United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Interment services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville. Military Honors will be conducted by the Northwest Arkansas Honor Guard of American Legion Post 100. Visitation will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers, Arkansas.
