Ollie Edward Reppond

Ollie E. Reppond, 94, passed away May 7, 2016. He was born on January 13, 1922 to George and Stella Reppond. Mr. Reppond was a WWII Veteran. When he arrived in Normandy, he landed at Omaha Beach. During his service there, he was in five major battles and earned five bronze stars. After his service to our country, he was an on the road truck driver. During his time driving, he was chosen to haul Apollo 11 Command Module to its final resting place in Oklahoma. During the trip, there was a stop in Little Rock for civilians to see. Mr. Reppond wrote a song that was chosen and printed in Baptist hymnal books. He was of the Christian faith, and will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Stella Reppond, four brothers, three sisters, two sons, David and Jimmy Reppond, stepson, Bryson Schoggin, two stepdaughters, Debra Callaway and Karen Stringer, and grandson, Rusty Pearson. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. LeVerne Reppond; sister, Betty Reppond Price; brother, Lester Reppond; two daughters, Peggy Kinney, Denise Bennett (Dottie); son, John E. Reppond; stepson, Michael Schoggin; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Bro. Norman Payne officiating.
