Mrs. LouVenia Vagner Elizabeth James Clark, 93 of Pine Bluff was born April 8, 1923 in Little Rock, Arkansas and passed on May 8, 2016. The daughter of Dock Dante and Phoebe Vagner James, Sr., who preceded her in death. Her sisters, Sadye Coffee and Ruth Blanchard and brother, Dante James preceded her in death. LouVenia attended public schools in Little Rock (Bush Elementary and Dunbar High School) graduating in 1940. She enrolled in AM&N College (UAPB) where she met and married John Brooks Clark (Deceased 1996) of Hope. She earned a Bachelor's degree from AM&N and her Master's degree from the University of Arkansas. LouVenia was the mother of Iris Lucille Brooks (deceased), Gloria Anne Clark-Lusear and James Wyatt Clark (deceased). She had three granddaughters: Kelly, Shelly (deceased) and Lesley Brooks. Two Great Grandchildren: August and Adali and a host of loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. LouVenia passed away quietly Mother's Day morning. Her passing shall be rejoiced. It is given she lived a long life of 93 glorious years filled with love, joy and happiness. Funeral will be Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 2:30 p.m., at St. John A.M.E. Church, 1117 W. Pullen St., Pine Bluff Arkansas. Interment will be in Forrest Lawn by Brown Funeral Home, 2704 Commerce Circle, Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Her body will lie in-state Saturday, at 1:45 p.m., until service.
