Roy Edgar Martin, Jr. 69, died on May 10, 2016. Roy was born on Sunday, November 17, 1946 to Roy Edgar Martin, Sr. and Ida Mae Martin in Harrison, Arkansas. In his early life, Roy was a fireman and police officer for the City of Harrison. He owned Central Arkansas Real Estate in Conway, developing Spring Valley subdivision, among many other projects. He loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing and camping. He loved to garden, canning the vegetables he produced. He built a complete cooking trailer that he would use to help a multitude of charities around the community including Special Olympics, Bikers for Babes and Boy Scouts. He loved competing in, and won many cooking competitions. He would prepare turkeys at Thanksgiving for charites to help the needy and the local fire departments. Cooking was his specialty, especially for others. His favorite thing to do was making memories with his family and friends which involved Fourth of July Celebrations on the Arkansas River, Christmas parties with Santa and dedicated many years of service to Ducks Unlimited. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Robert Hulsey and a father-in-law, Ben Rand Jr. He is survived by his wife, of 24 years, Polly Rand Martin Conway; one son, Robb Martin (Michelle), Harrison; one daughter, Felicia Martin, Harrison; one stepson, Wilson Brewer, Little Rock; one stepdaughter, Ashley McConnell (John), Rogers; three grandchildren, Robert Martin, Conway; Robbin Plumlee (Cory), Oak Grove; and Dalton Martin; Conway; three step-grandchildren, Tripp and Mary Jane McConnell, Rogers and Rand Brewer, Little Rock; one brother, Burl Martin (Ginger), Glen Ellyn, Ill.; one sister, Barbara Bradley Berryville; a mother-in-law, Eva Rand, Little Rock; two great-grandchildren, Bella and Brantley Martin, Conway and many nieces and nephews and extended family. Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2016 at Roller McNutt funeral home Conway, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ducks Unlimited. D.U.
