Kelamae Caldwell, 72, of Alexander entered Heaven's gates on Monday, May 9th, 2016. She was born on July 26, 1943 in Honolulu, Hawaii to the late George M. Israel Sr. and Sarah Kela Nahinu Israel. Kela was an extraordinary lady with a heart for serving people. She loved big and fiercely. You were blessed to be counted as her family and friends. She spent her life taking care of her family while working at St. Vincent's Hospital and later Griffin Leggett Funeral Home. A member of Oak Park Baptist Church, she loved the Lord and served Him daily. Kela was preceded in death by her husband Loyd "Bill" Caldwell, her son Gino Nolen, her parents, her brothers Charles Fisher and Louis Fisher and her sister Delphine M.K. Hostetter. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Glen (Laura) Nolen; her daughter in law, Darcy Nolen, her grandchildren Amanda "Mandy" (Brandon) Waleszonia, Madeline Nolen, Sarah Nolen and Loren Nolen, her great-grandchildren Brody, Bella and Braycen, her sister Simone Barboza, her brothers Carlos Fisher, George M Israel, Jr and Lorrin Israel and a host of extended family and friends, all who will miss her smile and her presence dearly. It would be safe to say that her beloved cat, Boo-boo, a cat who only Kela could love, will miss her most. A celebration of Kela's life will be held on Tuesday, May 17 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home with Brother Dennis Yarberry officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 16 from 6-8 p.m. also at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home. To honor Mrs. Kela and in remembrance of her Hawaiian heritage that she was so proud of, guests are encouraged to wear their favorite bright, island colors. Please share your memories of Kela and express condolences to the family at www.griffinleggettforesthills.com.
