Talbot Neal Porter, Sr.

Talbot Neal Porter, Sr., of Hensley, Ark., was born June 12, 1935 at Dallas, Texas, the son of the late T.E. and Palestine Hill Porter. He was a member of East Union Missionary Baptist Church; had served in the United States Navy; and was retired, having worked for 35 years with the United States Department of Agriculture as a food inspector. He was a member of Grant County Cattleman's Association and former member of Sheridan Golf Club. Talbot enjoyed working with his cows, playing golf, going to the races at I-30 Speedway and supporting his kids and grandkids, through the years, by attending their ballgames. Mr. Porter died Saturday, May 14, 2016 at his home at the age of 80. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Porter. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Myrtle Owen Pollitt Porter; sons, Neal Porter, Edgar and wife, Mandy Porter, all of Hensley; step-sons, Ricky and wife, Nancy Pollitt of White Sands, N.M., Jeff and wife, Alice Pollitt of Little Rock; brother, Duncan Porter of Dallas, Texas; sister, Elizabeth Campbell of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Kamryn Porter and Kayden Porter; nine step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Orion Cemetery near Redfield with Bro. Larry Campbell and Bro. Dennis Holmes officiating.
