Bennett Alston

Bennett C. Alston of Sherwood passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016. He was born January 18, 1927 in Morrilton, Ark., to William and Edna Alston. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Head. Bennett served in the 3rd Army in Europe during World War II. He was the owner of Alston Tomato Company for over 50 years, and was a member of Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joyce Hays Alston; son, Ned Alston (Barbara); daughter, Charlotte Holt (William); son-in-law, Herbert Head; grandsons, Buddy Head (Karen), Billy Holt (Holly); granddaughter, Jenny Graves (Jeff); brother, William Alston; sister, Charlene DuPriest; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 10:30 Thursday at Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
