Sherman Oliver Thomas

Sherman O. Thomas of Lewisville, Arkansas passed away from this life on Sunday, May 15, 2016. He was born on May 27, 1942 in Humnoke, Arkansas to Helen and Homer Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a Baptist. Through the years, he had many occupations, working in the oil fields, truck driving and logging. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Judy Eaves Thomas. He is survived by four daughters, Annette Linzeneyer and husband, Max of Prescott, Ark.; Jeannie Wicker and husband, Roger of Rosston, Ark.; Thelma Thomas and husband, Gary of Prescott, Ark.; and Rena Goshen and husband, Dwayne also of Prescott, AR; son, Bryan Thomas of Prescott, Ark.; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother, Charles Thomas and wife, Leah of Greybull, Wyo.; one niece and three nephews; numerous cousins; and extended family and many friends. He is also survived by a special person in his life for the past seven years, Joyce Higdon, whom he shared many of his favorite pastimes, such as music festivals and auctions. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, Ark. with Bro. Charlie Zumwalt officiating. Interment will follow at Sewell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Eric Areundo, Aaron Gulley, DeMarko Gulley, Gregory Wicker, Bryan Thomas, and special friend, Robert Richardson.
