Troy Lee Kimbrell

Troy Lee Kimbrell of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2016. He was 81 years young. The family invites you to celebrate Troy's life on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 2:30 p.m., Summit Baptist Church, with Reverend Todd Anderson and Reverend Tom Hart officiating. Entombment will be at Cypress Memorial Gardens. Visitation is scheduled on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m., Ralph Robinson Funeral Home. Online register at www.ralphrobinsonandson.com. Troy was born January 12, 1935 in Calmer, Ark. He attended Woodlawn School and Pine Bluff High. He served in the U. S. Army from 1957-1959 at Ft. Lewis Washington as a Weapons Infantryman receiving an honorable discharge and Good Conduct Medal with the rank of Sp-4 (E-4) (T). He continued to serve in the Arkansas Army National Guard until 1963 classifying him as a Cold War Veteran. Troy worked for Coca-Cola before joining the Pine Bluff Fire Department for many years driving a ladder truck. He retired as owner and operator of National Rug and Furniture Cleaners after 35 years. Troy was a member of Pine Bluff's Southside Baptist Church, a charter member of East Side Baptist Church where he was Deacon for several years and served as an active member of Summit Baptist Church as usher, greeter and advocate for the youth ministry. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner and Jester. Troy's most notable contribution was his service to the Pine Bluff Housing Authority. His tenure began in 1992 until present. He served on the Board of Directors as Vice Chairman for the past eleven years completing several projects that included affordable housing in a new sixty-five unit sub-division named Southern Crossing. He was dedicated to the Pine Bluff Community and to those who were less fortunate and a street is named in his honor, T.L. Kimbrell Drive. Family was Troy's passion. He treasured every visit and shared times together. Among his favorite pass times were fishing, hunting and enjoying nature. He was an accomplished cook, dancer, teller of tales and always brought a laugh. Troy made everyone feel special and loved and all knew his love for the Lord. These will remain his legacy. Troy is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lee and Ophie Dixon Kimbrell, wife and mother of his daughters, Jackie Lou Baker Kimbrell. Survivors include wife of the home, Wilma Goad Kimbrell, daughters, Riki Kimbrell Stamps and husband Jerry of Springdale, Gini Kimbrell Hamilton and husband Kenny of Sheridan. Troy's treasures were the young family members whom he loved and taught many life lessons. They include grandchildren Jessica Stamps and Allison Stamps of Springdale, Christopher Hamilton and wife Sara of Sheridan, Jason Stamps and wife Summer of Elm Springs, Leslie French and husband Chad of New Braunfels, Texas. Great-grandchildren include Austin Stamps, Alayna Stamps, Ayden Stamps, Xander Hamilton, Grace French and Greenleigh French. The family wishes to thank those who have sent continued prayers and acts of kindness over the past two years.
