Darrel Lee Hughes, age 75, of Farmington, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in Fayetteville. He was born August 12, 1940 in Wyola, Arkansas, the son of Oral Taft and Emma Lee Stout Hughes. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, A.J. Hughes and three sisters, Barbara Caudle, Thelma Hutchins and Taffy Hughes. He was a retired carpenter for Hughes Brothers Construction. He was a very loving and devoted husband and father and loved his family with all his heart. He was a devoted member of the Black Oak Church of Christ, he was a leader of souls and a soldier in the Lord's Army. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ruth Moncrief Hughes; two sons, Tony Hughes and his wife Vickie of Lincoln and Timothy Hughes and his wife Tina of Krum, Texas; a daughter, Kathy Hughes and her husband Danny Head of Fayetteville; three sisters, Oleta Wilson and her husband Don of Eugene, Oregon, Velma Byrum of West Fork and Sondra Cuff of Winslow; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., Friday, May 20, 2016 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at Center Street Church of Christ, officiated by Darren Vaughn and followed by burial at Black Oak Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
