GEORGE PATRICK BIRDSONG SR., 63 passed away suddenly on May 17, 2016. He was born on Nov. 22, 1952. George grew up in North Little Rock, Ark. He graduated from Catholic High School in Little Rock, Ark., in 1971. After high school, he joined the United States Navy. George worked for over 30 years as a computer programmer before retiring at the age of 55. George is survived by his three children who loved him very dearly; George Birdsong Jr., Stephanie Birdsong Cox, and Glen Birdsong. He had four grandchildren who loved their Paw Paw; Justin Hinman, Aidan Birdsong, Brody Birdsong, and Bryson Birdsong. He is also survived by his wife Cathy Birdsong. George is survived by his siblings; Edward Birdsong, Jane Stacy, Carol Zanoff, George Michael Birdsong, Bridget Oldham, and a large host of nieces and nephews and other relatives who cherished him dearly. He is also survived by his ex-wife of 34 years and the mother of his three children, Carolyn Birdsong. George is preceded in death by his parents, George and Agnes Birdsong and his sister, Susan Birdsong Zilber. George was a long time Member and Past-Master of the Iron Springs Masonic Lodge, #342. George left this world too early and too suddenly. His contagious laugh, sense of humor and often off the wall comments lit up any room that he was in and he will be missed dearly by all of his family and friends. Visitation will be held at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. 72211, (501) 224-8300 from 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2016. A celebration of George's life will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2016. Burial will follow the funeral at Salem Cemetery in East End, Ark. Masonic Brothers Arthur Helmkamp and Ed Britton will serve as pallbearers.
