June Charlotte (McClenny) White of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away peacefully on May 17, 2016, her 85th birthday. Daughter of Dean and Myra (Rindom) McClenny, she was born at the home of her grandparents in Oskaloosa, Kansas in 1931. The family later relocated to Topeka, Kansas, where June spent most of her formative years, graduating from Topeka High School in 1949. She would remain in close contact with many high school friends for the remainder of her life. After high school, June attended the University of Kansas, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in 1953. She often shared her fond memories of her university experience and was an avid fan of the Jayhawks basketball team, maintaining her own lineup and schedule notes throughout each season. It was while attending KU she met her future husband, Paul C. White (Coffeyville, Kansas). They were married February 7, 1953 in Washington D.C. and lived in Portsmouth, Virginia while Paul completed the remainder of his active duty in the United States Navy prior to his employment with United States Steel Corporation. Following several early relocations, June and her family lived in the Chicago area for 37 years before moving to Bella Vista in 1992. She is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Paul, also of Bella Vista; three sons and their wives, two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter and her beloved dog, Piper. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 11th at Highlands United Methodist Church, Bella Vista, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bella Vista (Arkansas) Animal Shelter or Highlands United Methodist Church. For those that knew June or even people that casually met her, you could not help but to be touched in an uplifting way. Her positive energy, sense of compassion, that quick, infectious smile and sense of humor made everyone feel just a little more special in those shared moments. She will be greatly missed, but not forgotten, as her spirit and love remains in the hearts of so many, and in the thousands of brush strokes of her accomplished paintings that will continue to reflect and project her beautiful inner being for generations to come. Arrangements by Epting Funeral Home Bella Vista. Condolences: www.eptingfuneralhome.webs.com.
