Ellen K. Landes

It's hard to forget someone that gave you so much to remember. That is especially true in regards to Ellen Landes. On Nov. 2, Ellen went to her Heavenly Home. She was a faithful Christian and member of 16th Section United Methodist Church in Austin, Ark. She was a wonderful woman with a compassionate heart, especially when it came to her family, friends and patients. She was a sports fan and enjoyed watching every sport especially the Arkansas Razorbacks. The cancer wore her body down, exhausted her strength, and took her life, but the cancer couldn't dim her smile. She is preceded in death by her mother Hazel Lewis, father Charles Lewis, and son Jonathan Daniel Landes. She leaves behind a husband of 38 years, David Landes; son, Christopher Landes; daughter, Victoria Golden; son-in-law, Neil Golden and grandson Gray Golden. She also leaves behind sisters, Tina Lantrip, Diane Smith; brother, Ronny Lewis; stepmother, Linda Lewis and aunt Jo Ann Talbert. She was loved by her in laws Kathy Landes, Michael Landes, Kathy Hulsey and David Hulsey. Anyone who met Ellen immediately became a friend to her. She will be greatly missed by her dear friends Elizabeth, Linda and Vee among the many. She was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandma, nurse, and friend. When we see daffodils each spring we will all think of the person she was and remains to be in our hearts. "The fact that our heart yearns for something Earth can't supply is proof that Heaven must be our home." CS Lewis. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., followed by a visitation reception.
