Franklin Delano Gray

Franklin "Frank" D. Gray, 80, of Austin, Ark., passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 2. He was born in Grafton Township, Ill to parents Oakley and Alma Gray. Frank retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving for twenty years and went on to work for the U.S. Postal Service for 22 years until his retirement. Frank loved music and was an avid record collector. He could build anything he wanted with his hands and he also loved working in his yard. He was a member of the Austin Station Baptist Church for many years. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Earl Dean Gray and Robert Lyndon Gray, sisters, Genelle Skeels, Doris Reser and Norma Marie Stewart, his first wife, Masako Gray and second wife, Vernie P. Gray. He is survived by his sons, Ronald A. (Donna L.) Gray and son Roger O. Gray, both of North Little Rock, daughter Ronda A. (Michael) Kaufman of Lexington, Mass., grandchildren Ethan C. Gray, Eden N. Chen, Evan A. Gray as well as one great-grandchild arriving soon. He is also survived by brother, Harold Gray of Illinois and sisters, Carol Mearkle of Minnesota and Shelby Allison of Indiana and daughter-in-law Sheri L. Ellerbee-Gray. A memorial service honoring Frank's life will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 7 at Rest Hills Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock, Ark. www.griffinleggettresthills.com.
