James Thomey

James "Jim" Thomey, 80, of Jacksonville passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016. He was born April 27, 1936 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Alphonse and Margaret Yanker Thomey. He was a member of the Army Air National Guard for over 42 years. They were his other family and he cherished the time he spent with each of them and their friendship. Jim loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his wife, Lyn Thomey; son, Deane Thomey (Melissa); three grandchildren, Madeline, Allison and Natalie; six stepchildren; eleven step grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; brother, Norbert Thomey (Sue); and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Leonard Thomey. Memorials may be made to his favorite charity, St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 505 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 10th at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
