Martin Lee Crutchfield Sr.

"I prayed, and I prayed, and I prayed." Martin Lee, The Arkansas Troubadour, Jacksonville, Ark. 1941, Martin Hawkins and Ann (McNair) Crutchfield just married and moved to the booming artillery town. They worked diligently along with cousins and friends. They would become the pillars building a city and family in faith. In failure and success their light would shine like a lighthouse for generations. Their first bright light arrived September 11, 1942 Martin Lee Crutchfield, Sr. later known as Martin Lee The Arkansas Troubadour. His early leadership roles lead him up the steps of the White House in Washington, DC at 18 as president of the National 4-H Club. He would continue his walk as a graduate from U of A in 1964. In the era of Man Walking on the Moon his motivation to succeed would inspire others he would teach to excel. By the early 80's his abilities translated through song as he signed with an agent and became The Arkansas Troubadour. Traveling across the US in a career spanning 20 years. On November 7, 2016 the encore was over. There are many friends, colleges and fans left to remember and share their moments of him. The family would like to thank you for all the thoughts, prayers and wishes. A memorial service has been scheduled for Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 1208 Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas.
