John Luther Standridge Sr. of Lamar passed away Saturday November 5, 2016 at JRMC in Clarksville. John was born on June 2 in Arkansas to the late Melvin and Ruthie Standridge. Precedred in death by his parents, one son, John L Standridge Jr., one grandson, John Anthony Standridge, and one sister, Paulette Standridge. John operated and owned JonCo Body Shop in North Little Rock for 40 years. He began serving his country at the age of 17, with his mother's permission, and was deployed to Central High in 1957 to ensure the segregation efforts were peaceful, and also was deployed during the Cuban Missle Crisis. For the past several years John has been a member of the JRMC Hospital Auxiliary, dedicating hundreds of volunteer hours in support of the Auxiliary, Hospital and our community. John is survived by Jewell Newman, companion, daughters, Kelly Warne and son-in-law, John, and Leigh Ann Dennis and son-in-law, Jeffery, and daughter n law Rhonda Standridge. Johns hrandchildren and step-grandchildren called him, Papa JonCo. They are Chase Standridge, and wife Alex; Jacob Standridge, Taylor Spruiell, Pamela Warne, Donna Palmer, Lauren Ojemann, Kimmy Palmer, Jayden Warne, Gage Stenger, Jonathan Owens, Jeremiah Owens, Lily and Kynna. Also survived by his brothers, Herman Standridge (Ann), Jackie Standridge (Beth) and Roger Standridge, and sisters, Jeanette May, and Judy Combs. John also had many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and loved ones. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday November 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Journey Church in Clarksville with Pastor Erik Dickerson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clarksville Funeral Home.
