Ella Lou Weiler

Ella Lou Weiler, 79, of Rogers died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Innisfree Health and Rehab in Rogers. She was born July 23, 1937 in Fresno, California to Klenner and Gladys Sharp (née Sorensen). Ella Lou was a resident of Rogers since 2005 after moving from Marblehead, Massachusetts, where she lived for 20 years. Ella Lou was a professional musician and music teacher. She played viola and piano in symphonies and orchestras throughout the world, including the North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra (NASO), now known as SONA. Ella Lou received a Master's degree in Piano Performance from USC in Los Angeles, California, where she was Homecoming Queen in 1958. She loved her kids, music, cats, throwing parties, watching Star Trek re-runs, any Disney movie, being with friends, going out to dinner (especially sushi), traveling in Europe, San Francisco sourdough bread (with butter, of course), and coffee!! She was preceded in death by her parents. Ella Lou is survived by one son, Kurt Schlegel and wife Amy of San Francisco, California; three daughters: Heidi Schlegel and husband Sami Saab of San Francisco, California, Kristen Cobbs and husband Barry of Rogers, and Wendy Curtis and husband Troy of Greenville, South Carolina; one brother, Steve Sharp of Clovis, California; three grandchildren: Zazie Schlegel, Emerson Cobbs, and Sam Cobbs; and two nephews: Scott Sharp and Mike Sharp and family. A memorial service will be Saturday, November 12 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Rogers (307 West Elm Street). Arrangements by Epting Funeral Home Bentonville.
