Sondra Patsy Sullivan Koonce was born onThursday February 9, 1933 at her grandmother's house in Sweet Home Arkansas. She passed away on Wednesday November 9, 2016 in Conway Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Fern Thomas Sullivan of Bryant Arkansas as well as her husband, J.M. "Tony" Koonce. She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Powell (Don), grandchildren, Caroline Powell, Kelsey Powell and Kipley Powell and sister, Maryon Wood all of Conway. Sondra started work towards her teaching degree at Arkansas State Teachers College (now known as UCA) during the 1951 and 1952 school year where she completed her freshman and sophomore school year. She completed her junior year (1953) at Ouachita in Arkadelphia. She came back to Arkansas State Teachers College for her senior year and graduated in 1954. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree in music and was certified to teach elementary school. She held several teaching positions in several states including Irving Texas, Bryant Arkansas, Nashville Tennessee and Cloverdale in Pulaski County Arkansas. Her greatest attributes were that she was a sweet loving lady who loved not only her family but had utmost devotion to her lord Jesus Christ. She was a avid reader of the Bible, Bible studies and devotional books. She was a great listener and prayer warrior for anyone. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway Arkansas from 2-4 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 14, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas.
