Alma Mae Thomas Cate

Alma Mae Thomas Cate, 98, of Greenland passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 in Fayetteville. She was born July 22, 1918 in Crosses, Ark., the daughter of Marvin Lee and Grace Foster Thomas. Alma was a homemaker, a Christian who loved God's word and it's teachings and the beauty of God that is ours to enjoy, the flowers, gardens, mountains, rivers, gospel music, friends and neighbors, family, and all good things that make life happy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul D. Cate, son, Tommy Lane Cate, three brothers, Floyd Lee, Marvin Jr., and Paul Franklin Thomas; sisters, Jo Kaney and Pat Morrison. Survivors include her son, Paul "David" Cate of Brandon, MS; daughter-in-law, Inette Cate of Omaha, Ark., and four granddaughters, Kathy Cate of Utica, Miss., Sherry Liston of Jackson, Miss., Paula Lasner and husband, Eric of Prairie Grove, Ark., and Ellen Matlock and husband, Brad of Omaha, Ark.; three great-grandchildren, Garrett and Peyton Matlock of Omaha, Ark., and Emma Liston of Jackson, Miss.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville with burial in Dowell Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10~11 a.m.
