Dennis H. Tigue, of Jacksonville, was born in Warren, Ohio on February 2, 1939. He married the love of his life, Muriel Antunes, on July 25, 1958 and celebrated 58 years of an adventurous marriage together. Dennis battled dementia for the last 8 years of his life with Muriel and family caring for him faithfully every day until his last breath on November 14, 2016. Surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren he was loved on, touched, held his hands through the long nights, and shared countless memories of all the adventures he gave us as husband, Dad, and Papa. He passing was peaceful. Dennis is survived by his beautiful wife, Muriel Tigue, his children: John Tigue, Mitzi Harden, Richard Tigue, grandchildren, Robert Kampman, Jessica and Gerald Levesque, Dustin and Lacey Matthews, Emily Matthews and Jonathan Tigue, great-grandchildren; Dominique, Landen, and Emma Levesque, and Chloe Matthews. He is also survived by his dedicated companion Harry Ann, his dog. An educated man Dennis enlisted in the Air Force at age 17. He graduated from Colorado State University at Fort Collins, Colorado and Officers Training School Lackland AFB, Texas. He served in many areas: Personnel, IG Team, 390th Missile Wing at Davis Montana AFB, Tucson, and as a Crew Chief Commander with the 308th Missile Wing at Little Rock AFB until his retirement in 1976. After retirement Dennis became a Real Estate Broker and was very successful in this field. He enjoyed golf, running, swimming, biking, camping, horse races, traveling, and just sitting in his chair reading the next book! Dennis, Dad, Papa we will miss you deeply! We love you! A special thank you to the VA CLC who took excellent care of Dennis for the last 8 months and enjoyed his fun playful personality even in his dementia state. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
