EVELYN IRENE LOOPER, 60, of Little Rock, passed from this life of Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016. She was born Dec. 13, 1955 in Enid, Okla. to the late Billy Gene and Joan Frances (Mercier) Looper. Evelyn graduated in 1973 from Jacksonville High School. She continued her education at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville and graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. She later received a Master of Information Systems degree from the University of Phoenix in 2009. She was a retired database analyst for the State of Arkansas-Department of Information Systems. Evelyn spent her childhood traveling across the globe as a "military brat" as her father was in the United States Air Force. From those travels, she met many friends and maintained those friendships throughout her lifetime. Evelyn continued her love for seeing the world by traveling often and mostly enjoying cruising vacations in which she had sailed a total of 29 times. Evelyn also enjoyed knitting and sewing and often designed her own formal attire for special events. She appreciated the art of quilting and was an active member of the Arkansas Quilt Guild of North Little Rock and Nimble Thimbles Guild of Cabot. Evelyn, also an active member of a bridge and spades group, was a fierce competitor and had many friends with whom she played cards. She was also known as a champion in the board game of Scrabble. Evelyn was an avid reader and an active member of a book club where she created many friendships here too. She delighted in the finer things in life and surrounded herself in the color peach, roses, lace, crystal and pearls. People were drawn to Evelyn's sweet southern accent, humor and kind hearted soul. She loved life and created happiness wherever she could and in any situation she faced. She will be greatly missed. Evelyn has been welcomed into Heaven by her parents and sister, Cheryl, along with several family members and friends who have departed before her. Evelyn is survived by her brother, Joseph E. Looper (Clarissa) of Arlington, Texas; her brother-in-law, Edward Cataldo of Jacksonville; her niece, Sandy Singleton of Cabot; several nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and very dear friends.
