GLENDA GAYLE JENKINS, 71, native of North Little Rock, died Aug. 28, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born Nov. 19, 1944, to Lois Bernice Huggs Cato and Wilson R. Cato. Glenda married William Gerald "Jerry" Jenkins on April 22, 1967. Glenda was known for her engaging personality, her attention to detail and her cooking and sewing mastery. Many knew Glenda as "Gigi" after she became a grandmother in 2002. Gigi and Jerry retired from the insurance business in 2010 with plans to pursue their passion for traveling the world and spending time with their daughter and grandchildren in Louisiana. They both began suffering from dementia soon thereafter. When they were no longer able to care for themselves, Gigi and Jerry moved to Louisiana, in 2012. Gigi and Jerry lived together at Sunrise Assisted Living in Baton Rouge, until Jerry passed in 2014. They had been together 47 years. Gigi leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter and son-in-law, Judith Karen and Nico Eymard; her granddaughters, Jillian Annese Dean and Jaclynn Abigail Dean - all of Geismar, La.; her son, Jonathan Kevin Jenkins; her brother, Fred Cato of North Little Rock and a host of other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 11-11:45 a.m., at Victory Missionary Baptist Church, 10000 Brockington Road, Sherwood. A memorial service will immediately follow visitation at the church. Refreshments and a light lunch buffet will be served in the fellowship hall following the service.
