Patricia Maxine Bush Cross

Patricia Maxine Bush Cross, 76, a resident of Jenks, Oklahoma and former resident of Fort Smith, passed away November 25, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born October 4, 1940 at Fayetteville, Arkansas, the daughter of Paul Carpenter and Viota Maxine Arrington Bush. Patsy was a graduate of Lincoln High School, and the University of Arkansas with a Masters Degree in Special Education. She taught school in the Fort Smith Public School System for 18 years and retired from Northside High School in Fort Smith after 7 years as a Special Education Teacher. Patsy was a member of the Council for Exceptional Children, Phi Delta Kappa Professional Education Organization, Beta Sigma Phi Society, Phi Beta Kappa Society, Order of the Eastern Star and Arkansas Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Smith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Survivors are two sons, Rodney Craig Cross and wife Kathy Lynn of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Douglas Brent Cross of Denver, Colorado; one brother William Eugene Bush and wife June of Fayetteville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Cayman Arrington Cross of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Christopher Michael Cross of San Diego, California, William Hunter Cross and John Tracy Cross both of Redondo Beach, California. Funeral service will be held Monday, December 5, 2016 - 11 a.m. at the Grand Avenue Baptist Church - 3900 Grand Ave. - Fort Smith, Arkansas. Interment will be at the Bethesda Cemetery near Morrow, Arkansas. Grave side services will not be held at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Cross, Bailey Coleman, Neal Coleman, Lewis Farrar, Mike Corley, and Greg Allison. Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Patricia's name.
